Penns Primary School Sports Premium Funding Statement
What is the Sports Premium?
The government is providing funding of £150 million per annum for the academic years 2013/2014, 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding is jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport and will be allocated to head teachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.
Each school will receive £8,000 plus an extra £5 per pupil each year for the next two years. Penns Primary School will receive approximately £8,905 per year. This money is only to be spent on sport and PE provision within the school. This money will be used so that all children will benefit regardless of their sporting ability.
Purpose of the funding
Schools are free to determine how best to use the funding they receive to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision. At Penns Primary we recognise the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of the children.
Penns Primary School will receive approximately £8,905 per year.
